I Heart Mrs. Schmidt
A two day notice from me a scrawl saying something along the lines of I need a recommendation, and the deadline is in two days. Surprise! And being the amazing person that she is, she writes it and without a complaint or any expression of disgust or even the slightest reluctance. This one instance just speaks volumes about her character as a person, role mode, and friend.
How she puts herself almost at the mercy of her classes every day, throwing caution to the wind, becoming a friend yet still a teacher to the best and the worst of her class is daring and almost reckless, but she always reaches her students and inspires them.
SADD Advisor, Yearbook Advisor, she is about as overcommitted as the students she oversees, and though she gets flustered in the by-the-bys of high school life, I can always look to her for support and guidance, a familiar face in the sea that is high school.
